Thomas came to Good Thunder as he was preparing to launch Coromandel Chocolate from scratch. A French chocolatier working with cacao sourced from small Pacific growers, he was moving to the Coromandel to build something of his own. The brand needed to feel premium but with obvious nods to the place it came from. Something tactile, boutique, and honest that reflected both the craft of the chocolate and the coastal environment it was being made in.

The challenge.

Coromandel Chocolate was launching handcrafted bean-to-bar chocolate made using traditional French methods with Pacific-sourced cacao. The product itself was exceptional, but the brand needed to carry that same sense of craft from day one.

The packaging had to stand out on the shelf while still feeling personal and authentic. The digital presence needed to introduce the brand in a way that felt genuine and inviting, giving customers a reason to explore the story behind the chocolate and come back again.

What we did.

We created a brand that gave Coromandel Chocolate immediate credibility. The packaging blends earthy tones and raw textures with subtle coastal cues, creating a premium shelf presence that still feels true to its artisan roots.

The website builds on this, designed to support online sales while introducing the brand in a voice that feels warm and approachable. Together, the identity, packaging, and digital presence established a clear foundation for the business as it launched.

Since then, Coromandel Chocolate has expanded its product range, grown its online sales, and moved into a larger factory to meet demand. Industry recognition followed, with award wins reinforcing its place as a serious player in the market.
